National Archives – Visitor Orientation Plaza

The new Visitor Orientation Plaza was designed to inform visitors of all the exciting events taking place at the nation’s Archives and to help them navigate this historic building. The large-screen displays that flank the entrance provide up-to-date descriptions of the Archives’ many destinations and the exhibits that can be found there. Mapping stations located just beyond the walls allow for hands-on, interactive navigation of the building. Cortina Productions also created a unique Mission Film for the space, highlighting the role of the National Archives as the nation’s record keeper. Playing across eight large screens, the film is an energetic collage depicting the activities, documents, and artifacts that the Archives makes available to the public.
