GAME ON! Science, Sports & Play is an exciting and energetic new exhibit at the California Science Center that invites visitors of all ages to get active and learn about the science of sport. Throughout the exhibit, LA-based athletes lead visitors through various activities, such as baseball, soccer, swimming, and dance, emphasizing the power of movement, performance, and wellness.
Working closely with CSC and project partners, Cortina Productions produced 10 media experiences for the bi-lingual exhibit. Each experience empowers visitors to explore their bodies in motion and learn about the various ways in which sports and science are interconnected. To help facilitate and encourage movement within the gallery, Cortina collaborated with manufacturers of sports training systems, such as HitTrax and TOCA, to create museum experiences that not only support learning by doing but also track and analyze in order to unlock new levels of understanding.
“Providing batted ball metrics, alongside virtual instruction from World Series MVP Freddie Freeman, is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the intersection of sports and science in an engaging, hands-on way. HitTrax is passionate about using data and technology to elevate the game, and this collaboration allows us to spark curiosity and connect with a broader audience—from young aspiring athletes to lifelong fans.” – Tom Stepsis | COO & Co-Founder, HitTrax
