One-third of the world’s population lacks access to safe water. The Global Water Center’s new Mobile Discovery Center invites visitors to learn about our world’s water crisis, including its scarcity and abundance, and that many communities have broken their cycle of poverty by gaining access to safe water.
Over the last year, Cortina Productions has been working with the Global Water Center, The PRD Group, and Kubik Maltbie to design and produce multimedia experiences for the traveling exhibition. The Mobile Discovery Center features multi-sensory and interactive experiences that bring awareness and urgency to the global water crisis and invite all of us to work together to end the global water crisis.
Project highlights include an introductory film within an immersive dome theater; an RFID-enabled storyteller path that takes visitors through the journey of accessing safe water; a tablet-based augmented reality experience that shows how technology is working to provide clean water to remote communities; interactive trivia games that tests your safe water knowledge and helps raise money from sponsors; and several interactive experiences that allow visitors to explore water’s interconnectedness with life.
The Mobile Discovery Center is scheduled to make its way around the country beginning in April 2021.
