MUSE Award for Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum's “Responsibility Theater”

“Responsibility Theater” at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum was honored with a Gold MUSE Award. “Responsibility Theater” is an interactive theater experience where visitors consider hypothetical scenarios brought on by the Oklahoma City bombing and its aftermath. Each hypothetical scenario is then followed by real stories from the bombing and its aftermath. The thought-provoking experience encourages visitors to apply lessons learned from this tragedy to their own lives. After hearing about what really happened, visitors are then asked whether they would now choose to respond differently to the hypothetical scenario.

The MUSE Awards recognize outstanding achievement in museum media design and development. Presented to institutions that use digital media to enhance the museum experience and engage audiences, the MUSE awards celebrate scholarship, community, innovation, creativity, education and inclusiveness.
